Lima bay is about 9 km long, 500m broad and 10 – 30 m deep bay on the west cost of Istria. It is located between tourist center Vrsar and Roving on the end of karsts valley. In the narrow part is the bay most like as a canyon or fjord.
The area was pronounced of Sea and Fish Reservation. It is a lot of fishes and oysters. Lima bay get the name under the Latin word limes, which mean border – in the past was here boarder between Porec and Pula’s county. Numerous caves are located on the rock’s coast. Reminds of human (from neolith) were found there. The rests of benedict monastery St. Michael from 11th century were found on the north coast of bay. Sport’s ships are forbidden, but you can enjoy the trip cruise.
